We are thrilled to announce that we have relaunched the nation’s preeminent eDiscovery law firm as Tanenholz & Marr. This move is primarily to recognize the transformational leadership Charles has made to the firm over the past 11 years, as well as to mark the beginning of the latest and greatest phase of our vision for eDiscovery Awesomeness!
Most of you reading this know Charles well, but for those who don’t, I will try to catch you up. In short, he’s helped transform the firm from a smart band of eDiscovery experts, to the absolute beast of the eDiscovery machine that we are today. His accomplishments are too lengthy to list in full, but here are a few of the biggies:
- Inventing, championing, and implementing our current fixed-cost per-document pricing model. Doing so required Charles (and the colleagues he’s trained) to fully grasp emerging technologies, master the in-depth case specifics, and engage in tireless advocacy to help our clients understand the cost savings to be reaped with this model. Endless refinement and improvement has made our current process almost unrecognizable from our first per-doc matter we did in 2013.
- Designing our current personnel structure where attorneys have an attainable career path from Contract Attorney, to Associate, to Senior Associate, to Counsel, to Director, to Partner. Developing and training a team of full-time professional eDiscovery attorneys with defined long-term career paths has elevated both the quality of our work and has energized our team.
- Simply refusing to miss. Any deadline, any document count, any client need, any task that needs to be done. Consider it done.
Finally, on a personal level, I couldn’t be more honored to have ourselves publicly linked in the name of the firm that I helped build and that I love so much. Learning from and with Charles, I think we’ve established a few principles to guide the firm as we go:
- The client’s needs are paramount above all other business concerns, and this includes pricing.
- Make the firm a place you can be proud of and where people want to work.
- Compassion and courtesy always, generosity as much as you can.
So here’s to an exciting 2024 and beyond, filled with all sorts of innovation, expansion, and eDiscovery nerdiness!
